It embraces a future where autonomous driving is the way, while still allowing for self-driving.
The goal of BMW with this concept car is to truly create a very personal vehicle, exemplifying the spiritual, inner connection between a BMW and its driver. They also aim to present the most fascinating, intense driving experience possible. This is done by ensuring the driver is in constant communication with the vehicle in both an intuitive and natural way. The digital intelligence of the BMW Vision Next 100 is relayed. This provides the driver with subtle, intuitive assistance in every situation possible. The result is perfect connectivity between the user and the surroundings.
The Vision also involves Alive Geometry, which is known to perform two key functions and allows the car to turn in different directions. Alive Geometry serves as an analogue display system on the dashboard, where it alerts the driver to incidents and objects ahead. Safety is truly at the forefront. Secondly, from the exterior, the Alive Geometry is visible in the form of movable wheelhouse covers for optimal aerodynamics. This is the look of the future!

The Alive Geometry gives a sleeker look and allows for the car’s frame to adapt to the turn of the wheel. This key feature is mesmerizing to say the least.
Encapsulated wheels is a crowd pleaser, with the idea being that this protects the wheels as well as presents a new type of wheel design altogether. Handleless doors revealed on the Vision brings forth a smooth finish. It is just with a swipe of the hand that these doors will open!
A two-handled steering wheel actually disappears off the dash when the car enters self-driving mode. This is an excellent feature in that it gives the owner more room to sit and relax while the car takes him or her to whatever destination. Watch the wheel disappear with just a simple touch of a button.
The self-driving feature also brings forth a design that includes warning lights to allow other vehicles to know what’s coming. This concept car has a purple diamond on its dash which lights up when the car enters self-driving mode, as well as a change in the rear lights to warn other vehicles.
Lounge seating is pure luxury and appeals to just about everyone! Long gone are days of cramped seating in back. You will actually want to be in the back seat! These creature comforts provide ample space and are total class and of great appeal to those who seek pure refinement in their amenities.
There are also Interior Visual Reptile-Like warnings that come in the form of small geometric shapes that turn red in clicking waves to warn the driver of objects on both sides of the vehicle. This helps in not only keeping drivers aware of their surroundings at all times, but also keeps the driver on task — and looking sharp! An interactive window screen, which is similar to a giant computer screen, gives off warnings as well as points out potential obstacles on the road. This is even better than a standard GPS as it literally paints a white line in the roadway to follow.
A carbon fiber and plastic exterior means no rust and a lifetime of a “fresh” look. While expensive to manufacture, it is something that will be a must in the future and well worth the investment in the long run.
